Job Title: Early Years Apprentice
At Happy Haven Day Nursery, you will support the development and well-being of children by assisting with daily activities, creating a safe environment, and helping plan learning experiences that promote growth.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and delivering engaging learning activities.
- Support children with personal care (feeding, toileting, dressing).
- Observe and record children’s progress, sharing findings with senior staff.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
- Follow safeguarding policies and report concerns.
- Encourage positive social and emotional development.
- Support daily routines and tidying up after activities.
- Participate in staff meetings and training.
- Help prepare and maintain resources and equipment.
- Communicate with parents about children’s progress.
- Adhere to nursery policies, health and safety, and safeguarding regulations.
- Uphold the nursery’s attachment-based philosophy, fostering emotional well-being.
- Work in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and British Values.
- Create inclusive learning opportunities tailored to individual needs.

Training & Prospects:
Our Ofsted Grade 2 Good nursery exceeds national achievement rates, with a blended approach to learning. You will be assigned a Personal Tutor for regular support. The apprenticeship lasts 18 months, leading to an Early Years Practitioner – Level 2 qualification. There is potential for a full-time role upon completion.
