LAW Absolute is recruiting on an interim basis for a Childcare Advocate Lawyer position with a local authority based in South London. The role will initially be for a period of 3 months.
Childcare Advocates will join the council’s advocacy unit and will be responsible for providing high level advice and assistance for the legal department. You will advocate on a range of cases to include non- accidental injury, child sex abuse and court of appeal cases. The role will offer the successful Childcare Advocate an interesting and varied practice.
Childcare Advocates within the team do not carry a caseload as the primary purpose of the position is advocacy. It is essential that you can show previous experience conducting advocacy at final contested hearings lasting at least 5 days. The council’s cases are usually heard within the courts located close to the council in South London.
The successful Childcare Advocate will not only have previous childcare advocacy experience but will also be ambitious, driven by delivering a high-quality service, and be able to work under pressure. It is important for the client that candidates are committed to this area of law and have a genuine enthusiasm for their work and for working as part of a wider team. Previous advocacy experience is essential.
