Experienced Social Worker - Children & Families (North East Derbyshire)

Location: North East Derbyshire
Salary: Up to £23.62 per hour

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

We're looking for a confident, experienced, and enthusiastic Social Worker to join our Children and Families Social Care team in North East Derbyshire. This role is ideal for someone passionate about safeguarding, improving outcomes for children, and working both autonomously and collaboratively within a dedicated team.

You'll work across all aspects of Child in Need, Child Protection, Pre-Proceedings (PLO), and Care Proceedings, playing a vital part in the lives of vulnerable children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and progress cases involving Child in Need, Child Protection, PLO, and Care Proceedings
  • Develop and deliver robust care and safety plans that promote the welfare of children
  • Undertake thorough assessments, maintain accurate casework, and complete court reports
  • Participate in multi-agency meetings and planning to ensure holistic support for families
  • Engage effectively with children, families, carers, and other professionals
  • Work independently while contributing positively to team objectives

What We're Looking For:

  • A qualified Children's Social Worker with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in a Local Authority setting
  • Strong working knowledge of child safeguarding, legal frameworks, and statutory responsibilities
  • Experience with court work, including report writing and giving evidence
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confident in working under pressure, prioritising cases, and meeting deadlines
  • A proactive team player with a passion for achieving better outcomes for children
