Job summary

Derbyshire County Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Child Protection Team in Derbyshire. You will manage a caseload of children and families facing safeguarding concerns, conduct assessments, and contribute to integrated intervention plans.

With flexible part-time or full-time hours, you will participate in strategy discussions, multi‑agency meetings, and court reporting while upholding the welfare and wishes of children at the centre of decision-making.

Qualifications

• Experience in safeguarding and child protection workflows.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of children and families with safeguarding concerns.
• Undertake comprehensive assessments to identify strengths, needs and risks.
• Develop, implement and review child protection and intervention plans.
• Lead strategy discussions, child protection conferences and multi‑agency meetings.
• Prepare reports and assessments for conferences and court proceedings.
• Provide professional evidence in court and escalate concerns of significant harm.
