Overview

West Dunbartonshire has developed a new team approach to public protection which is part of a programme of work where learning and development of staff and public protection remains our key priority.

In May last year saw the appointment of a new Independent Chair for both Adult and Child Protection Committees and this year we have introduced two new learning and development roles who will work as part of a team alongside Adult and Child Protection Lead Officers. The team will report through Chief Social Work Officer oversight and work closely with Committees and adult and children's social work services and partner agencies. We are seeking highly driven and enthusiastic individuals who understand the value of collaboration to ensure children and adults are protected from harm, underpinned by trauma informed practice and service user voice.

Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
