Job Title: Child Protection and Safeguarding Manager

Location: Plumstead, South East London

Job Type: Permanent, Part Time - 21 hours per week to be worked Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 39 weeks per year (term time plus 1 week)

The Role:

We are seeking a Child Protection and Safeguarding Manager to work 3 days per week, sharing the role with a colleague who works 2 days per week.

• You will support the Leadership team to provide a safe environment in which students can develop and learn.
• You will take the day to day 'lead' on safeguarding issues within the school, working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead Coordinator.
• You will maintain accurate, confidential and up to date documentation on all cases of safeguarding and child Protection and attend relevant meetings as required.
• An important part of your role will be to carry out duties as the school's 'lead professional' in cases where the school initiates a MASH referral.
• The role also includes maintaining the register of Young Carers and maintaining a register of students who are 'At Risk'.

We are looking for:

• Knowledge of best practice in pastoral care and safeguarding.
• Knowledge of current educational issues.
• Experience of working with vulnerable children/young people in an education, social work or youth setting.
• Experience of working with young people who are distressed or displaying antisocial behaviour.
• At least 5 years successful experience in an administrative role
• Qualification at degree level or equivalent.
• Good skills in information management and IT.
