A family in need of supportive care is looking for someone to assist their 6-year-old son with autism. The role involves encouraging independence, ensuring safety, and engaging in community activities. This position requires flexible hours on weekends, with 2 hours weekly during term time and 5 hours per week in school holidays. The ideal candidate should have experience with children with similar needs and be able to assist in daily living skills. Mileage will be compensated if using your own car.
We are the parent of a 6 year old boy with autism he is non verbal and needs to be looked after and kept safe. Support is needed to encourage him to get back out of the house and in to the local community and trips out at weekends. Initially dad will accompany on trips out . This will be work for either Saturday or Sunday we have 2 hours weekly for term time weekly and 5 hours per week on school holidays. These hours will be flexible and we can discuss at interview.
More detail : To support my son to become more independent and just generally develop skills to do more for himself Prompting with his personal hygiene if needed To ensure safety at all times as our son is vulnerable and to be mindful of road safety etc To support me on a one-to-one basis. To support me to maintain and develop daily living skills, including the use of public transport. To assist me with recreational activities. To organise and participate in events, activities and experiences which involve me in the local community in a positive manner. To encourage and enable me to make and maintain relationships with friends and family. To transport me to and from my home and various locations as necessary. Mileage will be paid if using your own car. To undertake any other reasonable tasks or duties as specified by myself, or my representatives.
