The CMS is offering exciting opportunities for motivated individuals to join us as Enforcement Case Managers. These roles allow you to make a real difference in the lives of children and families across the UK.

Enforcement teams handle all case management activities during enforcement action, including:

  • Referral to Enforcement Agents.
  • Use of Credit Reference Agencies.
  • Use of Civil Powers to collect payments, such as targeting assets or income (e.g., Order for Sale).
  • Applying sanctions to promote compliance, such as disqualification from driving, imprisonment, or passport removal.
  • Referrals to the Financial Investigations Unit for criminal activity and prosecution.
  • Effective communication with parents, colleagues, and other parties to progress cases effectively and accurately.
  • Continuous improvement of service delivery, keeping the client at the center of our work.

Key Accountabilities

The Enforcement Case Manager provides excellent customer service to both Receiving and Paying parents by progressing cases promptly and accurately, ensuring enforcement actions are consistent and effective, and deterring non-compliance.

The role aims to secure financial compliance from Paying Parents and others with Child Maintenance obligations who have failed to comply with maintenance or arrears processes. The role involves using relevant legal powers at the discretion of the Caseworker to enforce compliance and maintain a reputation for timely and effective enforcement actions, which discourage non-compliance behaviors.
