Job summary

BrightPath Kids Westford Center is seeking a full-time Teacher Assistant to support teachers and families, providing a home away from home for children in our care. The position follows NAEYC guidelines and emphasizes safety and caring interactions.

No classroom experience? We provide paid training on all classroom procedures and welcome candidates who are eager to learn and grow within our Busy Bees community.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours and meet state childcare criteria.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and supervision of children from 6 weeks to 12 years.
• Assist teachers with classroom instruction and activities.
• Decorate and prepare classrooms as needed.
• Maintain a warm, clean, and safe learning environment for children.
• Interact with children to encourage participation in activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about their child.

What will you be doing?

Responsibilities

As a Teacher Assistant, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care, according to NAEYC guidelines. Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks - 12 years.
• Assisting teachers with instruction in the classroom.
• Decorating inside and outside of classrooms as needed.
• Maintaining a warm and safe environment that is clean and permits children to grow and explore.
• Interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Providing effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.
