Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to join Lambeth Tier 3 CAMHS as a B7 Specialist Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

For the Band 7 Specialist post, we are looking for a child and adolescent psychotherapist with a broad range of experience, including working with children and families with high levels of complexity requiring skilled assessments and interventions.

This role is suitable for newly qualified Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists and those with experience seeking a new challenge. The post involves delivering high-quality services to young people and families, working with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting the development of child psychotherapy within Lambeth CAMHS.

You will provide comprehensive CAMHS assessments and specialist psychotherapy treatments, including Short Term Psychotherapy (STPP) and parent work, along with generic assessments such as ADHD. The role includes managing a care-coordinating caseload and participating in the local CAMHS duty rota for emergency assessments.

Regular clinical supervision will be provided, and the post holder will be expected to contribute to MDT meetings, offer supervision and consultation to staff, and promote child psychotherapy practices.

Applicants must be registered with the Association of Child Psychotherapists.

Lambeth is a diverse borough with a highly varied population, including many languages spoken at home. The service aims to be accessible and effective for all community groups.

Child and adolescent psychotherapists finishing their training or with Band 7 experience are encouraged to apply.
