Job description

Band 7 Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist

The post holder will provide specialist psychoanalytic child psychotherapy assessment and treatment to children, young people, and their families within CAMHS. Responsibilities include conducting initial assessments, offering consultation and supervision to colleagues, and participating in audit and research activities to support service development. The role requires adherence to the guidelines set by the Association for Child Psychotherapy and Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust policies.

  1. Provide comprehensive specialist child and adolescent psychoanalytical psychotherapy assessments and treatments.
  2. Support and deliver supervision and consultation for multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
  3. Engage in clinical audit, research, and evaluation to advance child psychotherapy services.
  4. Work autonomously within ACP guidelines and organisational policies.
  5. Participate in clinical pathways and multidisciplinary forums for decision-making.
  6. Collect and analyze referral and outcome data to evaluate treatment effectiveness.
