This is not a full-time position but an opportunity for a technology-focused professional to join a sports-based start-up in a part-time capacity in exchange for equity. However, as the platform is already built, there is a strong expectation that this role could transition into a full-time, paid position within the next six months.

I’m looking for a like-minded, UK-based CTO who can manage a fairly low maintenance live content-sharing and fan engagement platform. As CTO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the business whilst collaborating to optimise the existing product and manage our first few accounts.

This role requires a strong, effective communicator with a deep understanding of web and/ app development and a passion for creating solutions for sports teams as well as fans.

• What?: Content Sharing/ Fan Engagement
• Target: Sports teams & engaged sports fans
• Context: Interstad is a B2B2C SaaS platform that transforms the digital fan experience across sport
• Tech Stack: Interstad is a Next.js web platform hosted on Vercel. Originally built as a React Router v7 application, it was migrated to Next.js late in development, which is why it leverages tRPC for client-server interactions. The design system is built on top of shadcn/UI, utilizing Radix UI primitives for accessible and flexible components. The codebase is clean and straightforward, especially if you're comfortable with asynchronous workflows
• 30YO with 7+ years of experience working to creatively solve problems across Horse Racing, Rugby League and Football
• Experience leading commercial initiatives across Marketing, Fan Engagement and Events in the UK & Australia
• Keen sports fan with interests spanning sports in the UK, US and Australia
• Keep a busy and active lifestyle
• You're a full-stack engineer with experience in web/ app development
• Previous experience working across a content-sharing platform, or within a sporting organisation is a real bonus
• Prior experience scaling up a business or tech team
• Figure it out mindset - Whilst there is a strong vision for the platform as we grow, there are a variety of strategic challenges around the long-term execution that this person will have vital input into
• You have a product mindset, so you're keen to get as close to the end user/customer as possible to figure out their actual problems, so we can continue to develop something that works for them
• You're a confident speaker with the ability to present and communicate effectively
• You're a proactive, hands-on person with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuff done
• Most importantly you’re a good person. We operate in a high-trust environment and I want to share this with someone who has a passion for the concept and an interest in working alongside me

• Manage the website, ironing out any bugs as and when they appear
• Optimise the existing flows and create new features in line with the businesses four stage road map
• Continually lead the technology side of the business
• Equity share TBD
• Expect to be part-time initially. Happy for the CTO to balance this alongside another full-time job
• No pay initially, equity only
• Currently raising funds and likely to be revenue-generating within six months. This will allow the role to transition to a full-time, paid position
• Initial remote working. Keen to meet and chat in person at regular stages to ensure alignment
