Job summary

New Resource Group is seeking an experienced Head of Technical to lead the technical function in a food manufacturing environment. Based in Dorset, you will develop and deliver the technical strategy, ensuring top standards of food safety, quality and regulatory compliance across the site.

You will work closely with Senior Management, Operations, Production, NPD and Procurement to support growth, product development and continuous improvement, while maintaining robust systems and audits.

Qualifications

Significant technical experience in food manufacturing.
Experience at Technical Manager, Senior Technical Manager or Head of Technical level.
Strong knowledge of food safety, quality systems, GMP, HACCP and regulatory compliance.
Experience managing audits, technical investigations, suppliers and customer requirements.
Experience in bakery, FMCG or other regulated food environments is advantageous.
Excellent leadership and communication skills across levels.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop the technical function, including resource planning, budgeting and team performance.
Develop and implement the company's technical strategy in line with wider business objectives.
Maintain robust food safety, quality and technical systems across the manufacturing operation.
Ensure compliance with legislation, customer requirements and industry standards.
Champion GMP and HACCP standards throughout the business.
Manage audits, certification processes and supplier assessments.
Oversee technical documentation, specifications, testing and product compliance.
Drive continuous improvement across quality, food safety and manufacturing processes.
Build relationships with customers, suppliers and external stakeholders.
