Job summary

Lydd International invites applications for Director of Safety at Lydd Airport/CFFI, overseeing SMS/QMS, safety governance and regulatory compliance across GA, corporate, charter, training and military movements.

You will chair Safety Board, supervise Safety and Assurance team, report to CEO, and ensure activities meet UK CAA, CAP, ICAO/EASA requirements while fostering a culture of safety.

Qualifications

• Aviation safety leadership at senior operational level.
• Proven leadership in safety management.
• Experience implementing safety risk management in novel operations or with new product/technology.
• Strategy development and management of safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the airport and CFFI SMS and safety policy.
• Ensure compliance with UK aviation law, CAA requirements, CAP 168.
• Chair the Safety Board and provide independent assurance.
• Oversee safety governance and risk management across operations.
• Direct the Safety and Assurance team.
• Report to CEO and Board on risks and compliance.
• Coordinate audits and regulatory changes.
• Promote a just culture and safety ownership.
