Chief Registrar - Emergency Medicine
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated senior Emergency Medicine HEE Trainee (ST4 equivalent or above) with an interest in leadership, management, and quality improvement to join as a chief registrar at Wexham Park Hospital.
We are seeking to appoint a Chief Registrar in Emergency Medicine at Wexham Park Hospital.
The Chief Registrar role provides senior HEE Trainees with 40% protected non-clinical time to develop skills and confidence in leadership, management, and quality improvement.
Learning that chief registrars gain from this Royal College of Physicians' (RCP's) bespoke development programme will be put into practice in a supported environment that provides autonomy, flexibility, and encouragement to develop and support projects that address key local challenges and priorities. This may include service improvement, engagement and morale, education and training, workforce, and sustainability.

Job responsibilities
The Chief Registrar will be expected to attend modules delivered as part of the RCP's bespoke development programme, which will cover, for example, change management, team culture and development, quality improvement, leadership, influencing, and personal resilience.
Applications are open to Senior Trainees:
- National Training Number (NTN) ST4 level or above
- Locally Employed Doctors (LED) at equivalent experience of ST4 or above
- Working full time or less-than-full-time
- Who have full GMC registration.
Qualifications
Essential
- Full GMC with license to practice at time of application
- Should be ST4 equivalent or above
- Should not already hold a CCT or be within 12 months (ideally not within 18 months) of completion of training on the intended start date
- Must have approval of TPD to apply (NTNs)
- Evidence of satisfactory / more than satisfactory progress through training, including ARCP outcomes or appraisals

- Additional relevant degree (intercalated, masters, or doctorate)
Experience

- Evidence of clinical competencies in Emergency Medicine care appropriate for the stage of training (or equivalent)
- Ability to manage acute medical, surgical, and trauma emergencies with experience in providing emergency care for adults and children.
- An appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgment to problems
- Ability to prioritize clinical need
- Ability to maximize safety and minimize risk
- Ability to work without supervision where appropriate
