An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated trainee ED physician (ST4 or above) with an interest in leadership and management to join University Hospitals of Derby & Burton NHS Foundation Trust as a Chief Medical Registrar starting in August 2025. The post will be based at the Royal Derby Hospital.
This role provides a senior higher specialty (ED) trainee with the opportunity to develop valuable skills in leadership and management. The role is devised to ensure a minimum of 40% protected time to put these skills into practice by developing initiatives that address local challenges. Chief registrars have a tangible impact on service improvement, workforce transformation, engagement and morale, education and training, and work to deliver better outcomes for patients, colleagues, and organisations.
Trainees will benefit from a flexible training model that enables them to develop a portfolio of skills and experience that will benefit future consultant posts and leadership roles and build a profile that marks them out as a future clinical leader. The clinical component (60%) can be modified according to your individual needs in collaboration with your training programme.
