Overview

This is a part time post advertised as 0.6 wte, with consideration for 0.8 wte in certain circumstances. Following the relocation of our current CPPO, we have an exciting opportunity to join us as our new Chief Psychological Professions Officer (CPPO). We are a mental health and community trust covering Worcestershire and Herefordshire. This role provides professional and clinical leadership across the Trust for all psychological professions and requires collaboration with senior clinical and operational leaders within the Trust and in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire system.

You will have substantial experience in a clinical leadership role, with appropriate therapeutic expertise and training and a strong grasp of the roles and attributes of a range of psychological therapies and their contribution to best practice across diverse services. We are looking for a person with a strong background in proactive engagement with people using services and a commitment to co-producing care pathways. Responsibilities
  • Provide professional leadership and set strategic direction for the delivery of psychologically informed care and services delivered by psychological professions Trust-wide.
  • Provide leadership and direction, and devolved professional line management for systematic multilevel psychological services provision, governance and evaluation across multidisciplinary teams and other service structures Trust-wide.
  • Ensure, through liaison and advisory functions, that psychological services across the Trust are high quality, cost-effective, inclusive, anti-discriminatory, culturally appropriate, and based on best clinical and professional practice; meet quality and operational standards, national guidelines, commissioner requirements and user and carer needs and expectations.
  • Advise the organisation on resource deployment to ensure a workforce capable of delivering evidence-based and NICE-compliant psychological care, including recruitment, appraisal and talent management of applied psychologists and other psychological professionals.
  • Provide senior leadership to the Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions training course as Programme Director.
