Job summary

Housing 21 is recruiting a Director of People & Culture to shape strategies that support an inclusive, high‑performing organisation delivering high‑quality housing with care for older people. The role is home based with regular travel to the Birmingham Office and wider geography.

You will lead workforce planning, organisational culture and people transformation, advising the CEO and executives while embedding Health & Safety, Diversity & Inclusion and Data Protection.

Qualifications

• Proven track record at director or senior leadership level with HR breadth.
• Experience in organisational development, culture and employee experience.
• Strong commercial understanding and ability to influence strategy through data.

Responsibilities

• Shape, agree and lead delivery of the People Strategy, aligning workforce, leadership, culture and capability with Housing 21's strategy and resident outcomes.
• Provide evidence-based advice and challenge to the CEO and governance forums.
• Lead strategic workforce planning, talent, succession, leadership development and employer proposition.
• Champion culture, inclusion and employee experience using data to drive progress.
• Lead people and culture input into transformation, change and programme delivery.
• Set strategic direction for reward, benefits, pensions and payroll.
• Use workforce analytics and horizon scanning to inform decisions and governance.
