The Southfield Trust is seeking a Chief Operations Officer to lead operational functions and ensure efficient management across multiple schools in Eastbourne. The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.
If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
Location:Multi-Academy Trust central offices, with travel across schools within the Trust in the Eastbourne area
Salary: LMG Grade 4, point 17 to 20 (£63,422 – £69,116)

The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to come into the new role of Chief Operations Officer. You will lead and oversee all operational aspects of the Trust, ensuring that our schools are managed efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operations, including facilities management and asset maintenance, capital projects, compliance, health and safety and strategic planning, to support the delivery of high-quality education and care to our students. Your leadership will be key in helping us meet our mission of transforming the lives of children with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead on insurance contract management, ensuring appropriate policies are in place to cover all aspects of risk in respect of the Trust’s assets and activities.
About You:
We are looking for an experienced and inspirational leader with the following attributes:
A relevant qualification in management or operations (e.g., MBA, facilities management, relevant degree, or equivalent experience) is highly desirable.
