Zusammenfassung

SSE plc seeks a senior leader to head the onshore consents and environment function for SSEN Transmission in Scotland. You will set strategy to deliver high-quality EIA work and secure statutory consents across a major portfolio, while guiding a large, multidisciplinary team.

You will operate from a Scottish base, spending about half your time in the office and engaging with government, regulators and NGOs to influence policy, ensure governance and support the transition to net zero.

Qualifikationen

• In-depth knowledge of Scottish Environmental Impact Assessment and relevant planning frameworks.
• Experience leading large multi-disciplinary teams with ability to set direction and manage priorities.
• Strong commercial awareness including governance of major projects and contract oversight.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills with senior government and planning bodies.
• Degree in environmental or planning discipline with professional membership (IEMA/RTPI).

Aufgaben

• Set and lead onshore routing, site selection, EIA and consenting strategies to secure statutory consents.
• Lead and develop a large multi-disciplinary team focused on safety, quality and delivery.
• Provide senior oversight of environmental and consenting activities across early project stages and manage complex issues.
• Build trusted relationships with government departments and consenting bodies, representing SSEN Transmission in senior forums.
• Oversee onshore consenting procedures, budgets, reporting and governance compliance.
