Chief Officer Personal Assistant- HC621773

We are seeking a professional and proactive Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and organisational support to the Chief Officers of Hampshire and IOW Constabulary. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and effective running of the Chief Officer team by delivering efficient diary management, confidential document handling, and professional communications with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Title: Chief Officer Personal Assistant- HC621773

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Closing Date: Sunday 27th July 2025 at 23:59 hours

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive PA support to a Chief Officer, including diary, inbox management, and collation of briefing materials and reports.
  • Build effective working relationships with the Staff Officer to ensure accurate communication and follow-up on key tasks.
  • Collaborate with other PAs to support organisational priorities, share best practices, and cover during absences or high demand.
  • Attend meetings, accurately minute discussions, and ensure timely distribution of minutes and actions.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements, ensuring value for money and compliance with force policy.
  • Accompany the Chief Officer on work assignments outside the headquarters.

Requirements include proven experience in a senior administrative or PA role, excellent communication skills, strong organisational and time management skills, high discretion, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and confidence in setting up online/hybrid meetings. Knowledge of policing or public sector environments is desirable but not essential.

Essential Qualifications

Educated to QCF Level 2, with 5 passes including English, or equivalent work experience. A minimum of 3 years of secretarial or administrative experience supporting senior managers, with extensive experience in typing, document layout, and Microsoft Office applications.
