Job summary

Northern Lighthouse Board in Port Oban is seeking a Chief Officer to manage day-to-day operations of an NLB Tender, including buoy work, boat work, deck maintenance and helicopter operations. The role includes on-board crew training, PPE issue and restocking, dangerous goods documentation and ISPS compliance.

The Chief Officer will deputise for the Master in their absence; salary ranges from £54,994 to £59,680 per year depending on skills and experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of an NLB Tender including buoy work, boat work, and deck maintenance.
• Coordinate helicopter operations and on-board crew training; manage PPE issues and restocking.
• Prepare and maintain dangerous goods documentation and ISPS compliance; deputise for the Master in their absence.

Salary: £54,994 per year rising to £59,680 per year dependent on skills and experience

Location: Base Port Oban
