About Pallon

At Pallon, a spin-off from ETH Zurich, we’re creating AI that automatically detects defects in sewer inspection videos and advises cities on when & how to fix them. By providing more precise, objective data, we aim to fix wastewater leaks, reduce CO2 emissions, and prevent urban flooding. Our mission is to make cities more sustainable and resilient.

In this role, you will work with the Engineering, Design, Sales, and Customer Success teams to build outstanding products.

Your role

We’re looking for a Chief of Staff to support the leadership team with planning, communication, and execution across the business. You’ll lead preparing for board, leadership and investor meetings, track key company metrics, manage strategic projects, and ensure our goals (OKRs) stay on track. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the big picture and the details—comfortable moving between spreadsheets, slide decks, and conversations with stakeholders across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Projects & OKR Execution
  • Lead the company’s quarterly and annual planning processes; translate strategic goals into actionable team-level OKRs.
  • Track and report on OKR progress; flag risks and help teams stay aligned and accountable.
  • Drive strategic projects such as new market analysis, competitive assessments, and business model evaluations.
  • Financial & Operational Insight
  • Lead the design and upkeep of KPI dashboards and monthly reporting packages for our investors.
  • Lead with Finance on budgets, forecasts, and ad-hoc modeling.
  • Conduct analysis of revenue and cost trends to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Board, Executive & Company Communications
  • Prepare board materials, decks, and pre-reads; manage logistics, meeting flow, and follow-up on action items.
  • Organize and facilitate leadership meetings, including agenda setting, material prep, and accountability tracking.
  • Ensure clarity, transparency, and alignment across executive and company communications.

What Success Looks Like (12 Months In)

  • Company OKRs are clearly defined, regularly reviewed, and driving measurable progress across teams.
  • All areas of business are covered by meaningful metrics, which are clearly defined, understood, owned, tracked and acted upon on a regular basis.
  • Leadership and board meetings are consistently well-prepared, efficient, and action-oriented.
  • The executive team is more focused and effective, supported by clear processes, priorities, and communication.
  • Strategic projects such as new market evaluations or business model improvements are completed and lead to actionable decisions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in business operations, strategy, finance, consulting, or a Chief of Staff–style role, ideally in a fast-paced or growth-stage environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling, revenue analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Proven ability to manage complex planning processes and track execution against company goals (e.g., OKRs or similar frameworks).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create executive-level materials and present clearly.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Able to adapt existing metrics, frameworks, and processes to fit the needs of different teams or evolving business models.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing without direct authority.

Benefits & Company Culture

As a part of Pallon, you will:

  • Contribute to a positive impact on society and the environment.
  • Develop a novel product that changes a whole industry through leveraging the latest advancements in AI.
  • Be part of a motivated, smart, fun, and supportive team.
  • Own a part of Pallon and have a part in our success with our Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP).
  • Work for the Underworld, not the Devil: exploring sewers virtually and in real life during our Pallon offsites.
  • Work from home or enjoy access to our beautiful office space located in Zürich.

Inclusion statement

At Pallon, we highly value equality of opportunity and inclusivity, and we would like to particularly encourage women and candidates from under-represented backgrounds to apply, even if you don’t match with 100% of the requirements.
