About HCL Software

HCL Software, a division of HCLTech, is a global technology leader driving digital transformation for the world’s most forward-thinking organizations. We deliver more than 80 enterprise-class product families across Digital Solutions, DevOps, Automation, AI & Data, and Security — enabling innovation, resilience, and measurable customer success.

Role Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Chief of Staff / European Programme Director to act as a strategic partner to the SVP, Region. This is a pivotal role operating at the intersection of strategy, execution, and leadership designed for a results-driven professional with the vision to see the big picture and the discipline to make it happen.

As the SVP’s primary business accelerator, you will drive regional strategy, optimise operational performance, and ensure cross-functional alignment across European markets. From building a sustainable, data-driven revenue engine to spearheading transformation initiatives, you will shape and deliver the priorities that define our growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Partner with the SVP to define, operationalise, and communicate regional strategy, priorities, and OKRs.
  • Lead annual and quarterly business planning, ensuring alignment of goals, metrics, and execution plans.
  • Translate strategic vision into actionable programs with clear milestones, owners, and success measures.

Leadership Enablement & Operating Rhythm

  • Orchestrate the leadership team’s operating cadence, including weekly LT meetings, QBRs, and strategic offsites.
  • Develop high-impact executive briefings, board materials, market insights, and internal communications.
  • Ensure decisions are made efficiently, with rigorous follow-through and accountability.

Regional Business Operations

  • Drive cross-functional execution across Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Success.
  • Identify risks and opportunities through data-driven analysis; implement interventions to optimise outcomes.
  • Manage regional growth programs, market expansion, customer engagement initiatives, and account acceleration.

Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives

  • Lead high-priority projects on behalf of the SVP, including commercial strategy, partnerships, M&A integration, and operational transformation.
  • Act as the regional interface with global corporate teams to align priorities and leverage enterprise capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 7+ years in management consulting, strategy, business operations, or a senior Chief of Staff role — ideally within enterprise software or B2B technology.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing strategic initiatives across complex, matrixed organisations.
  • Strong data analytics skills (Maths/Data Science background preferred) with proficiency in tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent statistical packages.
  • Exceptional analytical, project management, and execution discipline.
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complexity.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Fluent English required; additional European languages a plus.

What You’ll Gain

  • A high-visibility role at the heart of HCL Software’s European growth strategy.
  • First-hand involvement in strategic decision-making at the most senior regional level.
  • The opportunity to deliver measurable business impact in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • A collaborative, entrepreneurial culture that rewards initiative, accountability, and results.
