Information Services Division (ISD) supports and enhances learning, teaching, research and a range of professional services processes across UCL.
Services provided by ISD include all core data centres, email, desktop, printing, security, networking and software/hardware purchasing. ISD also supports research computing platforms, education and IT security across UCL. Within the professional services area ISD support HR, finance, estates, student information, as well as website development and creative design.
About the roleThe IT Security Group (ISG) is accountable for information and cyber security across UCL. Effective security is critical to UCL as we deliver world class teaching and research so our systems and platforms need to trusted and available at all times.
The ISG group work in partnership with the academic schools to deliver and maintain a minimum level of security across the university as well as reviewing and assessing the risk within all change and project initiatives to ensure appropriate risk governance across UCL.
You will provide overall vision and strategy for the UCL Information Security Group (ISG) and have the opportunity to lead on the creation of the security strategy for UCL, collaborating with other stakeholders to achieve consensus and agreement on the strategic outcomes for security at UCL.
This is an exciting role which will give the right candidate the opportunity to make a genuine strategic contribution to UCL's professional services, flourishing at a directorship level in a fantastic team.
About youTo be considered for this role candidates will need to have have skills and experience of the following areas:
- Graduate calibre or equivalent.
- Proven delivery and expertise in Information Security and deep understanding of risk management principles and processes.
- A proven track record in managing and transforming security in complex, environments while meeting key objectives and timelines.
- Deep knowledge of effective security strategies for large matrix organisations.
- Excellent knowledge of security technologies and process design
