Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Chief Pharmacist to work with our client in Cumbria. If you're seeking your next challenge, congratulations! Here are the key details:

  • Job Title: Chief Pharmacist Band 9
  • Location: Cumbria
  • Duration: 3 - 6 months contract
  • Schedule: Full-time (Monday - Friday), onsite
  • Rate of pay: £70 - £80 per hour, depending on experience.

A Day in the Life of a Pharmacist

As a Band 9 Chief Pharmacist, you will ensure the safe provision of clinically appropriate, cost-effective, evidence-based pharmaceutical care to patients.

  • Develop a safe & quality-driven clinical service for patients.
  • Be accountable for the provision and delivery of pharmacy services across the organization in accordance with an annual business plan.
  • Lead the strategic development and implementation of medicines management & pharmacy services within the Trust, including risk management, compliance with standards set by regulators and professional bodies, pharmaceutical clinical governance, and supporting the Trust's strategic objectives.
  • Report to the Board on medicines management and ensure compliance with legislative, governance, and operational standards of pharmacy & medicines management.
  • Collaborate across the wider healthcare system to maintain high standards across the health economy.
  • Provide leadership on Safe Use of Medicines, Controlled Drugs, Professional standards, Non-medical Prescribers, Medical Gases, Trust Formulary, Medicines Optimisation, Medicines Governance, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Green Plan, Radiopharmacy manufacturing.
  • Chair the Medicines Management Committee.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Previous hospital experience at this level.
  • Current and valid GPHC registration as a Pharmacist.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care.

Working hours and contract duration:

Monday to Friday, for 3 to 6 months as a locum cover.
