Job description

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their Isle of Man team.

Our client:

L'Objet is a luxury lifestyle brand renowned for its exquisite home decor, accessories, and luxury personal and home fragrances. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their dynamic team and oversee all financial aspects of operations.

Role Overview:

As the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's financial strategy, operational efficiency, and long-term growth. You will oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance while leading and mentoring a team across multiple locations. Your expertise will ensure the company maintains its financial health and achieves strategic goals in a global context.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Finance Leadership:
• Develop and execute financial strategies to support the company's growth, profitability and operational goals across retail, e-commerce and wholesale channels in diverse markets.
• Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO & leadership team, aligning financial plans with business objectives
• Create dynamic financial models & scenario plans to inform key decisions around pricing, inventory, capital allocation, new project (non-exhaustive)

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to ensure financial health & transparency
• Analyse business performance across categories, channels and regions, identifying risks, opportunities, and cost-saving measures
• Drive profitability by optimizing gross margins, managing overhead costs, and improving operational efficiency

Financial Reporting and Compliance:
• Produce accurate financial statements and ensure compliance with US GAAP, UK GAAP, and Isle of Man regulations.
• Prepare and oversee tax filings and related compliance returns.
• Prepare weekly reports, track key metrics, and perform daily banking tasks.

Global Financial Expertise:
• Manage financial operations across Isle of Man, Dallas, and Alcobaça offices.
• Provide insights and leadership to drive financial success in a global market.

Technology Transformation:
• Oversee the transition to NetSuite ERP and ensure smooth integration across teams.
• Champion a data-driven mindset across the organization.
• Leverage technology and analytics to support decision-making and innovation.

Operational & Team Leadership:
• Lead and grow a small accounting team and provide guidance to external professionals.
• Foster a top-down and hands-on culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Ensure robust internal controls, financial systems, and processes to support a rapidly scaling business
• Work cross-functionality with operations, marketing, and sales teams to ensure alignments between financial goals and business execution

Investor Relations and M&A
• Develop potential future investor relations and support the company's fundraising and M&A activities.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide strategic financial insights.

What You Bring:
• Master's degree in Finance or Accounting with at least 10 years of relevant experience, including a CFO role.
• Strong understanding of multi-channel business, with a proven expertise in DtC channels (retail, eCommerce)
• Strong background in strategic finance leadership, global financial operations, and operational efficiency.
• Perfect master of QuickBooks, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Excel (tests will be executed), and experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems used in wholesale and retail accounting.
• Methodical approach to goal setting & execution
• Skills in building bridges between teams and ensuring alignment across functions
