Job summary

SF Search Partners are partnering with a leading manufacturing group in the Midlands to recruit a Chief Financial Officer. The CFO will report to the board and audit committee, owning group management accounts, statutory reporting, tax and cash flow management.

The candidate will support UK and overseas subsidiaries, communicate across all levels from boardroom to shopfloor, and build relationships with directors, finance teams and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Technically focused finance leader with professional qualification (ACA/FCA).
• Experience delivering group consolidations and overseas subsidiaries accounting.
• Treasury expertise including FX contracts and cash forecasting.
• Exposure to large multinational groups and IFRS15 understanding is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce timely group management accounts and statutory reporting.
• Oversight of tax, regulatory reporting and cash flow management.
• Collaborate with UK and overseas subsidiary accountants and senior stakeholders.

Job description

SF Search Partners are currently working with a marketing leading manufacturing business in search for a technically savvy but commercially capable Chief Financial Officer to join their group in The Midlands.

The Role

As CFO, you will report directly to the board and the audit committee and will have overall responsibility for the production of timely and accurate group management accounts, statutory financial reporting, tax, regulatory reporting and cash flow management.

The role requires a strong ability to work as part of a team and to be able to offer help and support to the subsidiary accountants both in the UK and Overseas, as well a capable of communicating effectively from the boardroom to the shopfloor.

The role will involve excellent exposure to all subsidiary directors and finance teams, and with personal credibility will require wide-ranging relationship building with internal peers and external stakeholders (audit committee, auditors etc).

The Person

The successful CFO will have the following:

• Technically focussed finance leader with ACA / FCA Qualification, having come from an audit background
• Extensive group financial management experience
• Experience of working for a large scale, multinational organisation
• Strong technical group consolidation experience; understanding of consolidation accounting including the accounting for overseas subsidiaries and associates
• Treasury experience; understands how to process and account for complex foreign exchange contract
• Background of working within a long-term contract business, ideally within the manufacturing / engineering industry - a working knowledge of IFRS15 would be ideal
• Knowledge of corporation tax i.e., cash flow forecasting and calculating quarterly on account tax instalments
• High level MS Excel skills - including pivots, chart production, index match and look up functions

Location

Whilst Midlands based, the business has manufacturing operations globally - you would only be needed in The Midlands between two and three days a week.
