Chief Financial Officer

They are more than a brewer and distiller. They are retailers and hoteliers, and with exports to over 20 countries, Adnams’ reach is broad, but their roots remain firmly planted in purpose and people. Now, as the business focuses on revitalisation, resilience, and long-term sustainable growth, they are seeking a commercially minded CFO to join the Board.

The Role

As CFO, you’ll sit at the heart of the leadership team, working in partnership with the CEO and the Board to guide the business through a period of strategic transformation and renewed commercial momentum.

This is a role for a hands-on, forward-thinking finance leader. You’ll lead a committed finance team, bringing clarity, insight, and energy to every corner of the business — from the brewery to the boardroom.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide strategic financial planning and decision-making across the business
• Lead transformation efforts to support profitable, sustainable growth
• Ensure robust controls, reporting, and risk management
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash management and performance monitoring
• Manage investor relations, audits, and banking discussions
• Support and evolve IT and systems strategy
• Develop a high performing, engaged finance team
• Lead with integrity, curiosity, and purpose

We’re Looking For

• A seasoned finance professional, with experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or retail-led businesses
• Proven experience leading through change — with a track record of supporting financial turnaround or transformation
• A strategic thinker with sharp commercial acumen and a hands-on approach to delivery
• A strong communicator and collaborative leader, able to influence across the business and build trust at every level
• A qualified accountant with significant post-qualified experience in senior finance leadership roles
• Passionate about purpose-led business and excited to play a central role in Adnams’ next chapter

Location: This role is based in Southwold at least three days a week — giving you the chance to fully immerse in the culture, people, and place that define Adnams.

Remuneration

• Salary: £150,000+
• Car allowance, bonus, and long-term incentive package
