Job description

Tortilla Mexican Grill plc (“Tortilla”) is Europe’s leading fast-casual Mexican restaurant group, operating over 100 sites across the UK, France, and the UAE. With a resilient brand, clear vision, and ambitious growth plans, this is an exciting moment to join the business in a pivotal executive leadership role.

Following a successful IPO and subsequent market recalibration, Tortilla has entered a new phase of growth. Recent strategic moves, including the acquisition of the Fresh Burritos platform in France, have created a scalable foundation for expansion across Europe and beyond. The company is now seeking a commercially astute and strategically minded Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to play a key role in unlocking this next chapter.

The Opportunity

As CFO, you will join the Executive Leadership Team and Board, working closely with the CEO to drive financial strategy and enhance shareholder value. You will be responsible for the financial stewardship of the business, leading planning and analysis, corporate governance, investor relations, risk management, and control environments in a dynamic, listed company setting.

This is a rare opportunity to join an exciting turnaround business with strong momentum and a clear path to significant growth through an ambitious franchising strategy across Europe and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CEO and Board to define and deliver long-term strategic plans.
  • Lead robust financial planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure high-quality reporting and compliance in line with IFRS and AIM regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a solid financial control environment with a “no surprises” culture.
  • Manage investor relations and communications, acting as a trusted voice with the market, shareholders, and analysts.
  • Oversee treasury, tax, risk, and capital structure strategy.
  • Drive governance, audit, and ESG financial reporting.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing finance team and drive excellence across finance, supply chain and real-estate

Your Profile

We Are Looking For a Forward-thinking Finance Leader With

  • Proven CFO or senior finance leadership experience in a listed or PE-backed business.
  • A strong background in retail, hospitality, or consumer-facing sectors.
  • ACA (preferred), ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • Deep expertise in corporate governance, capital markets, M&A, and investor relations.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at Board level.
  • A commercial mindset with a passion for driving business performance.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in fast-paced, multi-site operations.
  • Success in scaling finance functions to support international expansion.
  • Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks and sustainability performance metrics.

Remuneration

A highly competitive executive compensation package will be offered, including base salary, annual bonus, LTIP, pension, and executive benefits aligned with the significance and responsibility of this role.
