We’re looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for our public sector client based in Cardiff on an initial 6-month contract paying between £900 to £950 per day Inside IR35.

This role allows hybrid working with an expectation to attend the office 3 days per week.

You will need to bring senior financial leadership experience within complex organisations, ideally in the public sector, with a proven track record of managing transformation, risk, and commercial governance.

The successful CFO will possess proven skills working with the following –

• Strategic financial management, governance, and stewardship

• Leading Finance, Commercial, and Economics functions

• Acting as Lead Executive for Audit & Risk, and Chair of Finance and Investment Committees

• Delivering value-for-money and compliance with Managing Public Money

• Driving procurement strategy and commercial assurance

• Stakeholder influence at board/government level

• High-level reporting including annual accounts and statutory returns

You will need to be a fully qualified accountant (CCAB, CIMA, or equivalent) with strong understanding of public sector finance and governance frameworks.
