East Sussex Healthcare Trust (ESHT) is looking for an exceptional Chief Finance Officer to help drive successful financial performance, understanding, and outcomes across our ambitious Trust.
ESHT is an extra-large multi-site Trust with complementary acute services across two DGHs alongside a wide range of community services. Our budget is approximately £700 million, and we employ around 8,000 staff. We have embraced integrated working and are regarded as a reliable and trusted system partner. Partnerships are strong within the NHS and beyond, supported by a strong, stable, and effective Board.
There is a distinctive culture at ESHT that is more easily experienced than defined. We invest heavily in creating a supportive environment that enables staff to perform at their best. Our CFO needs to develop a visible, positive reputation with staff as well as partners. Our workforce responds well to interested, committed, authentic leaders with humility.
The CFO should be experienced in financial strategy, governance, planning, and performance, playing an essential role in shaping the financial framework that allows ESHT to deliver exceptional patient care. Understanding the balance between financial efficiency and clinical excellence is crucial, as is the ability to facilitate conversations that promote both. The role involves modeling desired leadership behaviors to maintain conditions that empower staff to work effectively in alignment with strategic priorities and patient needs. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping a financially sustainable future that supports clinical sustainability.
We offer a wide range of staff benefits, including staff development programs, enrollment in the NHS pension scheme, access to onsite nurseries, staff restaurants, and accommodation.
All staff have access to free psychological support through our confidential Employee Assistance Programme, in addition to an internal Occupational Health department. Onsite parking is available from only £50 a year.
There has never been a better time to join East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. Submit your application today.
