Job description

Chief Finance and Operating Officer (CFOO)

Full time permanent, on site and remote working.

Join a growing, values-led trust where every child and adult can belong, be respected, and feel empowered to excel. At Engage Enrich Excel Academies, our vision is clear: Inspire belonging through respectful collaboration, empowering all to achieve excellence.

Founded in 2014 with a commitment to serving local communities, we will grow to eight primary schools by September 2025. We believe in unlocking potential and growing stronger together. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a trust with a strong moral purpose and a passionate commitment to positive, community-based education.

We are looking for a CFOO who is able to utilise school funding, resources and identify grants and projects from the wider community. You will lead the financial and operational strategy of the trust, working closely with the CEO to deliver a long-term sustainable plan. This is a key leadership role that will give you an opportunity to shape the central team and strategic direction, helping our schools to thrive. You’ll lead a talented team and ensure our operations are efficient, compliant, and fully aligned with our vision and values.

As a professionally qualified finance leader, you’ll have a track record across multiple functions, ideally within education or the public sector. You will be an inspiring and influential leader, with the confidence to shape strategy and drive improvement. This role includes leading on strategic financial and operational issues, ensuring that systems, processes, and functions are compliant, efficient, and quality assured through effective policies and internal controls.

Our Trust Board is dedicated, ambitious, and deeply committed to pupil and staff wellbeing. If you’re excited by the challenge of shaping the future of a forward-thinking, community-rooted trust—regardless of our size—we would love to hear from you.

Interviews will take place week beginning 21st July 2025.

We encourage you to take an opportunity for a confidential discussion with our CEO, David Harris. Please contact our offices to arrange a visit. We would welcome a visit to any of our schools, as this will give you a good impression of our Trust.
