Why we exist

Healthcare workers experience higher rates of anxiety, depression and suicide than the general population. YOD was founded after a personal tragedy and exists to ensure healthcare professionals can seek support, speak freely and access evidence-based resources.

Our mission

To enable all healthcare professionals to seek support, speak freely about mental health and be equipped to manage effectively the inevitable occupational pressures they face.

  • Strategy & growth: Deliver YOD’s strategy; scale programmes and impact
  • Operations: Lead a small, agile team; oversee budgets, HR, governance & Charity Commission compliance
  • Partnerships & advocacy: Grow relationships across healthcare, industry and government; represent YOD as a visible spokesperson
  • Volunteers & ambassadors: Grow, engage and support our ambassador platform
  • Communications: Oversee campaigns, media and brand to raise YOD’s profile

About you (what you bring)

  • Senior leadership track record (charity/healthcare/social impact ideal)
  • Proven fundraising and partnership development
  • Strategic thinker, hands-on executor; impact & measurement mindset
  • Financially literate; confident with budgets and compliance
  • Excellent communicator and relationship-builder
  • Deep commitment to healthcare workers’ mental health
  • Proactive, values-driven, and comfortable in a lean, high-energy team
