Shield AI is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the architecture and deployment of Hivemind Autonomy across unmanned aircraft. You will own system design, risk mitigation, and product quality while coordinating across programs and defense contracts.

The role requires guiding a 6–20 engineer team and shaping defense autonomy architectures, including IRAD and external contracts. UK security clearance is preferred for this leadership position.

Qualifikationen

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
• 10+ years in autonomy and/or UAS platforms (defense tech, self-driving, etc.).
• 7+ years delivering software into production/certifiable environments with high reliability.
• Understanding of guidance, control and navigation (GNC).
• Understanding of robotics stack (controls, estimation, perception, planning).
• Understanding of software development processes and deployment of software.

Aufgaben

• Serve as the Chief Engineer on autonomy projects for unmanned aircraft.
• Lead a team advancing Hivemind Autonomy and shaping defense architectures.
• Define and assign technical objectives, make key engineering decisions, ensure deliverables quality.
• Provide technical leadership across IRAD initiatives and defense contracts.
