About us...

Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow is the only hotel with direct access to Terminal 2 and is directly connected to the underground, mainline and Elizabeth Line. The hotel has 369 rooms and some exciting food and beverage outlets, including the Runway Bar, which offers amazing views of the airplanes taking off and landing. It has five conference rooms for up to 65 people and features a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

A bit about what you will do...

The Chief Engineer in our stylish hotel leads from the front and takes a proactive, hands-on approach, overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations, ensuring the highest standards are maintained throughout, creating a welcoming and safe environment that consistently exceeds guests' expectations.

  • Lead and coordinate the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance services.
  • Prepare and monitor the annual departmental operating budget, with a focus on energy management, preventive maintenance and capital planning.
  • Lead hotel renovations and other projects, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely completion within budget.
  • Manage Health & Safety, including statutory compliance, risk assessment, permits to work and safe working practices.
  • Address any guest concerns promptly, attentively and efficiently.
  • Liaise closely with other hotel departments and the wider management team to support the continual improvement of property maintenance standards.
  • Maintain and order parts and supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimizing waste and supporting green initiatives.
  • Coach, train, and support the team to provide consistently high standards while continually looking to improve.
  • Perform Duty Manager shifts as required.

  • Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of budgeting and cost control.
  • Proven experience to lead a green initiative for a large hotel.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs.
  • Proven experience in managing, coaching, challenging and developing teams.
  • Approachable and positive manner with a can-do attitude.
  • A smart and professional appearance.
  • Ability to use initiative in challenging situations and under pressure.
  • A proven track record in a similar position within a 4-star hotel.
  • Recognised electrical or engineering qualification and specialised expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields.
  • Excellent understanding of Health and Safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of the operation, control and maintenance of building services plant and systems.
  • Previous experience using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • High standard of English, both written and spoken.
