Job summary

Wiley is seeking an Editor-in-Chief for Educational Technology to drive strategic development of journals, expand submissions, and raise visibility in the research community. You will lead editorial processes, collaborate across teams, and represent Wiley at international conferences while promoting open research and ethical publishing practices.

Qualifications

• Must have a research background in Educational Technology.
• PhD degree in educational research with strong research background and context knowledge (education policy, health & wellbeing, STEM).
• Manuscript handling experience including pre-screening, peer review, final decision, appeals and integrity cases.
• Commissioning experience identifying priority topics, approaching authors, outlining timelines, guiding to submission.
• Strong global networks within research communities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively and influence outcomes.
• Flexible and innovative approach to problems with focus on outcomes.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills and excellent English.
• Strong understanding of scientific publishing and advocacy for open research.

Responsibilities

• Leverage international networks to drive high-quality submissions in key subject areas.
• Strategically develop one or more journals within the Education portfolio.
• Establish and maintain a global network of authors, peer reviewers and board members.
• Represent Wiley and the Education portfolio at conferences and through outreach activities.
• Oversee editorial evaluation, peer review, and decision making for manuscripts.
• Collaborate closely with external and internal editorial colleagues.
• Work with your manager to establish a team culture of trust, respect and high performance.
