Job description

A fantastic opportunity to join a growing, entrepreneurial real estate organisation as Chief Development Officer delivering amazing buildings and forming part of the Executive team growing the business in London.

The Chief Development Officer will oversee all development and construction activity across multiple projects reporting to the CEO.

You will develop the team ensuring new projects are on-boarded and your team is meeting project goals, timelines, and budgets. The role involves overseeing and coordinating, across multiple projects with various internal and high-profile external stakeholders, including contractors and consultants, to ensure the project aligns with the clients' vision and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Management and development of a team.
  2. Review potential new sites for acquisition, oversee construction programmes to support site valuations, and oversee and appoint professional teams managing through the development process.
  3. Oversee the development and defining of project scope, objectives, and deliverables across multiple sites.
  4. Create detailed project plans, programmes, budgets, and resource allocation.
  5. Establish and maintain clear project communication channels.
  6. Reporting internally and to an institutional investor acting as the main point of contact between all project professional teams.
  7. Monitor project costs and ensure adherence to the approved budget.

You will have 15+ years of senior experience delivering commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use projects from acquisition to completion in London. Project Management knowledge throughout pre and post-construction phases with excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships.

Experience of working within a consultancy, developer, or client organisation. Experience of successfully operating within high-profile multi-stakeholder and institutional environments. Ability to proactively contribute to value management and value engineering studies at project and programme level. Commitment, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic.
