As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, theChief Commercial Officerwill help develop, influence, drive, and deliver on corporate objectives that impact the entire organization. The CCO’s influence will extend beyond their direct job responsibilities of Commercial & Revenue Generation Strategy, Enterprise Marketing, Business Development, Corporate Development, Client Services, Market Access, and Sales, to the overall achievement of business objectives. The Commercial Executive will bring credibility and presence to represent the commercial strategy in conversations with the Board and investor partners. The CCO must be a dynamic, innovative and collaborative leader with effective leadership and management skills. The Commercial Executive will be hands-on and skilled in motivating others to achieve desired results through clear direction, active communication, coaching, and the creation of a shared vision.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Execution
- Define and drive Clairity’s commercial strategy across all stages of market development—from early access to full commercial launch.
- Lead corporate growth through go-to-market strategy, operational execution, and commercialization planning.
- Inform company-wide strategic decisions as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team; support fundraising and investor relations.
- Identify short- and long-term growth opportunities through market intelligence, competitive analysis, reimbursement pathways, and policy shifts.
Commercial Operations Oversight
- Own and manage P&L for sales, marketing, business development, client services, and market access.
- Design and execute scalable sales infrastructure, including CRM management, pipeline forecasting, incentive plans, and revenue operations.
- Lead strategic marketing efforts, including brand development, market segmentation, and demand generation across enterprise channels (hospitals/IDNs, employers, payers, providers).
- Develop and implement market access strategies; collaborate on regulatory and reimbursement planning to support broad adoption and coverage.
Business Development & Client Partnerships
- Build and nurture relationships with health systems, large employers, payers, strategic partners, and clinical providers.
- Drive revenue growth through B2B and institutional deals; oversee contract negotiations and partnership development.
- Lead client services strategy to ensure an exceptional experience across all customer touchpoints.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing commercial team across sales, marketing, business development, and access.
- Foster a collaborative, performance-driven culture aligned with Clairity’s mission.
- Guide internal and external communications to ensure alignment of commercial objectives with clinical, operational, and product strategies.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Scientific, Marketing or Business concentration; MBA preferred
- 8+ years of senior leadership in multiple commercial functions including marketing, corporate/business development and sales; experience in consumer/patient initiated testing approaches is a plus
- Experience working in an early-stage entrepreneurial company with first-in-class products scaling revenue from -0- to $50M+
- Broad marketing skills including launch strategy & execution, VOC, campaign management, marketing segmentation, digital marketing, competitive analysis, etc.
- Experience in commercializing innovative and disruptive products/services in the diagnostics or health tech markets; women’s health preferred
- Creative approach to payment and channel partnerships – Cash pay, Self-insured employers, Institution/client bill, Commercial and government payers
- Proven ability to influence and work successfully with varied audiences, including investors, scientific and technical leaders, clinicians, and business partners
- History of utilizing KPIs to inform decisions and improve commercial performance; experience in capital efficient and profitable approach to growth with ownership of sales & marketing ROI as a primary metric
- Strong track record of recruiting, motivating, leading, and retaining high-performing commercial teams
