The Cardiology Department at MKUH is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated, highly experience device Cardiac Physiologist to join our Cardiac Rhythm Management team. In this key role, you will contribute to service expansion, continuous improvement and the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main duties of the job

• Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist providing independent specialist support to the Cardiac Device Service in the implantation of Pacemakers (including LBAP) and ILR's along with follow-up of the full range of implantable cardiac devices (implantable defibrillators, cardiac resynchronisation therapy devices, pacemakers and implantable loop recorders).
• To support PCI and diagnostic angiography.
• Performsand reports highly specialist cardiac assessments appropriate to role.
• Assistsin the day-to-day coordination of the department.

Job responsibilities

Clinical responsibilities:

• Toindependently provide specialist and advanced Physiologist support to the Cardiac Device Service in the Implantation and Follow-Up of the full range of implantable cardiac devices (implantable defibrillators, cardiac resynchronisation therapy devices, pacemakers and implantable loop recorders), under the guidance of the Cardiac Device Lead and Lead Physiologist:

Patient care:

• To provide specialist and advanced assessment of cardiac devices within a range of settings, at an independent practice level under the guidance of the Cardiac Device Lead & Lead Cardiac Physiologist.
• To supportthe Lead Physiologist in maintaining clinical governance arrangements and to report and respond to untoward incidents.

Policy and service management:

• Contributeto service development in liaison with Lead Cardiac Physiologist.

Person Specification

Qualifications and knowledge

• BSc in Clinical Physiology or Equivalent
• BHRS, EHRA, IBHRE Accreditation
• Member of the Society for Cardiological Science Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP)/AHCS
• Ability to provide technical reports
• Higher Professional qualification/Masters level

Experience

• Extensive experience in physiological investigations
• Extensive experience for cardiac rhythm management including remote monitoring service, FSN management and general physiological measurements experience
• Extensive knowledge of invasive cardiology with competency in simple and complex PCI, and simple/complex device implants
• Demonstrate competency to lead in ECG, ETT, HUTT and Ambulatory Monitoring, pacing and complex device follow-up
• Staff teaching/mentoring
