A prominent healthcare provider in London is looking for a part-time Chief Cardiac Clinical Physiologist. The successful candidate will join the Cardiology Department to perform echocardiograms and support the team with other cardiac diagnostics. Candidates must have a degree in Clinical Physiology, significant experience in echo reporting, and relevant certifications. This role offers the opportunity to participate in further training and potential weekend work.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience at a Senior level.

  • State registration with Registration Council Clinical Physiology.

Responsibilities

Chief Cardiac Clinical Physiologist - Part time

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Cardiology Department as a Band 7 Chief Cardiac Clinical Physiologist. Our Cardiology Department performs a wide range of non-invasive diagnostics. We are a busy department that has opened some of our diagnostics to direct access from Primary Care. We require an experienced Chief Cardiac Clinical Physiologist to join our team and contribute to the echocardiography service, as well as occasionally assisting with other cardiac diagnostics performed throughout the department. Successful candidates should be able to work independently and have significant experience in performing and reporting echocardiograms. Successful candidates will need to hold accreditation from the British Society of Echocardiography in Adult Echocardiography, or equivalent.

Please note - The echo service may be extended to include weekend working in the future as part of a 6/7 day service. The successful candidate will be required to participate in weekend cover.

Main duties of the job
  • To work closely with other cardiac physiologists, the Lead Clinicians in Cardiology, Consultant Cardiologists and service manager.
  • To be involved in the provision of a range of techniques for recording, measuring and monitoring physiological changes in patients and preparing reports on the results obtained in Adult Echocardiography.
  • Be encouraged to undertake further training in the above techniques.
  • To communicate with patients, relatives and other staff in a professional manner, concerning the assessment, treatment and progress of patients, whilst ensuring respect for the patient\'s wishes, and ensuring confidential information. To act as an efficient role model and resources advisor to colleagues. To have a sound understanding of the concepts of quality assurance and to develop, implement and maintain quality standards.
  • Be involved in the training and assessment of the junior members of staff, taking a leading role for physiologist lead Exercise Tolerance test training.
