Job summary

Triumph Consultants Limited invites a seasoned Head of Landlord Compliance & Building Safety to Bristol. You will direct safety programs across housing, ensuring regulatory alignment and risk management. A senior SME will own safety cases, engagement with residents, and high-rise governance.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, maintain data quality for the Golden Thread, and drive continuous improvement in safety and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading landlord compliance and/or building safety functions within housing, property or a regulated environment.
• Strong working knowledge of statutory compliance areas: gas, electrical, fire, water hygiene, asbestos, lifts and wider building safety.
• Detailed understanding of the Building Safety Act, CDM Regulations, Fire Safety Order and associated regulatory frameworks.
• Significant experience in strategic leadership, service development, change management and multi-disciplinary team management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
• Experience delivering compliance assurance programmes in a social housing or local authority setting.
• Strong background in procurement, contract management and driving value for money.
• Experience using digital systems, asset data and analytics to inform safety assurance and forward planning.
• Professional memberships (CIOB, IFE/IFSM, IOSH, IIRSM, RICS).
• Technical qualifications such as:
• Degree in the Built Environment
• Level 4/5 Fire Risk Management
• CIOB Level 6 in Building Safety

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for landlord compliance and building safety across the housing portfolio.
• Act as the organisational lead for the Building Safety Act, overseeing safety case development and resident engagement.
• Ensure robust compliance frameworks, policies, procedures and assurance systems are in place.
• Lead, motivate and develop multi-disciplinary teams, external partners and specialist contractors.
• Oversee commissioning, audit, reporting and performance management to provide visibility of risk and improvement actions.
• Maintain auditable data and digital records, embedding the Golden Thread of building safety.
• Shape and deliver strategies and service plans for safety and regulatory compliance.
• Build relationships with residents, regulators and stakeholders to support transparent service delivery.
