Job Description

* Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused culture.* Provide expert financial guidance to senior stakeholders, supporting effective decision-making across the organisation.* Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting, including year-end accounts, budget planning and monitoring, and statutory returns.* Oversee all aspects of capital accounting, treasury management, pensions, and exchequer functions.* Ensure financial systems and internal controls are robust, efficient, and compliant with public sector regulations* Play a key role in driving continuous improvement across finance processes and service delivery.

The Successful Applicant

* Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).* A minimum of 5 years' industry experience.* Strong technical expertise in local government or public sector finance.* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior leaders.* Flexible and proactive approach, able to respond to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
