Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse specialising in Chemotherapy to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and a thorough understanding of human anatomy. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care to patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.

Responsibilities

  • Administer chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed by oncologists.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after treatment, providing immediate care as necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families about chemotherapy procedures, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documenting treatments, responses, and any changes in condition.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures within the clinical setting.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with advancements in oncology nursing.
Experience
  • A valid nursing qualification with current registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Previous experience in oncology or chemotherapy administration is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology as it relates to patient care.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide empathetic support to patients and families.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating independence when required.
