Job Description

Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse specialising in Chemotherapy to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and a thorough understanding of human anatomy. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care to patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.

Responsibilities:

  1. Administer chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed by oncologists.
  2. Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after treatment, providing immediate care as necessary.
  3. Educate patients and their families about chemotherapy procedures, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
  4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans.
  5. Maintain accurate patient records, documenting treatments, responses, and any changes in condition.
  6. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures within the clinical setting.
  7. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with advancements in oncology nursing.

Experience:

  1. A valid nursing qualification with current registration as a Registered Nurse.
  2. Previous experience in oncology or chemotherapy administration is preferred but not essential.
  3. Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology as it relates to patient care.
  4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide empathetic support to patients and families.
  5. Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating independence when required.
