Job description

My client is an innovative and fast-growing company at the forefront of the global push to eliminate plastic waste specializing in chemical recycling, transforming end-of-life plastics into valuable raw materials. They are looking for a Chemist to join their R&D facilities in Loughborough.

What you will be doing:

As a Chemist (Technician), you will be a vital part of the research and development team. Your work will focus on conducting pyrolysis experiments, analyzing data, and helping to scale up cutting-edge recycling processes. You’ll also contribute to the safe, efficient running of laboratory operations, support international collaborations, and help drive continuous technical improvements in a globally impactful field.

What they are looking for:

  • A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science—or equivalent industry experience.
  • Basic knowledge of chemical analysis tools (e.g., GCMS, FTIR).
  • At least 1 year of lab experience (synthetic or analytical) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with air-sensitive materials, high-temp reactions, or pilot-scale systems is a plus.
