We are seeking an enthusiastic and effective Chemistry Teacher to join our vibrant and ambitious college. Our commitment is to provide the best possible education for every student that we serve. We are a fully inclusive Catholic Sixth Form College with a diverse and multi-cultural student body of 1100 16 to 19-year old Sixth Form students and 110 staff members.

The successful candidate will have a relevant degree and teaching qualification, or will be a current ITT trainee working towards QTS. They will teach across our A Level and Vocational curriculum, promote a purposeful learning environment, deliver engaging lessons, and foster a creative and innovative learning environment with a strong focus on student progress.

This role is suitable for an ECT or an experienced teacher seeking to transition from a school to a 16-19 environment.

Qualifications & Training

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
  • ECTs welcome to apply – bespoke ECT induction

Experience

  • Have planned and taught lessons that enabled students to make good progress
  • Have successful teaching experience in secondary or further education sectors (including teaching practice)

Skills and Knowledge

  • Appropriate specialist subject knowledge matching curriculum demands
  • Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS5
  • Ability to write and implement effective lesson plans
  • Capability to create lesson resources that support high-quality learning
  • Good understanding of assessment practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive staff relationships
  • Proficiency in ICT skills, including innovative use of interactive whiteboards
