A highly respected and academically ambitious co-educational independent school in the Hammersmith area seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Chemistry Teacher for a full-time, one-year fixed-term contract commencing in April. - About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and challenging Chemistry lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5 (A-Level), covering core chemistry concepts and principles.
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans that incorporate practical investigations, demonstrations, and interactive learning activities to foster a deep understanding of chemistry.
- Assess student progress through regular formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their learning and development in chemistry.
- Contribute to the smooth running of the Science department, including participating in departmental meetings and potentially assisting with extracurricular science activities.
- Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment within the chemistry laboratories.
- Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background and specialism in Chemistry.
- Experience teaching Chemistry at the secondary level, ideally across a range of key stages including GCSE and potentially A-Level.
- A thorough understanding of the secondary science curriculum and effective teaching strategies for Chemistry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities.
- Strong practical skills and experience in laboratory work, with a commitment to ensuring student safety.
- A passion for chemistry and a desire to share that enthusiasm with young people.
