About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Chemistry lessons across Key Stages 3-5, following exam specifications and incorporating practical experiments and real-world applications.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that foster problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and chemical understanding, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources, including laboratory experiments and online simulations.
  • Assess student progress through practical experiments, demonstrations, and written assessments, providing detailed feedback to support their development and ensure smooth transition mid-year.
  • Contribute to the development of the Chemistry curriculum, integrating current chemical research and safety practices, and participate in departmental planning and collaboration.
  • Organize and lead laboratory experiments, chemical demonstrations, and science-related activities, promoting student engagement and practical skills, adapting to mid-year integration.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong Chemistry subject knowledge, including chemical theories and laboratory techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Chemistry to A-Level, with a focus on both theoretical concepts and practical applications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and practical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities, including those joining mid-year.
  • Commitment to fostering scientific inquiry and practical skills.
