Chemistry Teacher (Full-Time, Temporary)

£31,650 - £43,606 per annum

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum requirement for this position is a suitable qualification to teach Chemistry i.e PGCE, with valid QTS/QTLS

The School and Role

ABC Teachers is seeking a dedicated and passionate Chemistry Supply Teacher for a long-term placement at a well-respected secondary school in Bournville, starting in September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Science teacher to deliver engaging and challenging Chemistry lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4 students. Located in the leafy suburb of Bournville, this Ofsted-rated “Good” school is known for its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral support, and excellent Science department. With modern laboratories and a culture of academic curiosity, the school offers an ideal environment for both experienced and newly qualified teachers to thrive.

Responsibilities

• Full-time, long-term Chemistry teaching role (September 2025 start)
• Planning, marking and assessing responsibilities included
• Teaching Chemistry to students across KS3 and KS4
• Supporting pupils’ progress in a well-resourced and collaborative department
  
  

Requirements

The successful Chemistry Teacher will have;

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Science/Chemistry
• Recent experience teaching Chemistry in a UK secondary school
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
• Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
• All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
